Dishwasher error code

Not an AIBU, just shamelessly posting for traffic and words of wisdom. My dishwasher has decided to stop working and has thrown up the E4 error code. According to Google this is something to do with the water in/out such as a possible leak? (I can’t see any signs of such). Dishwasher is approx 6 years old and brand is electriq.

has anyone had this and is it something I can fix myself? Or is it more complex and needs a plumber?! Or replacing?

please help me as I am trying to be quite the domestic goddess but have absolutely no idea what to do here 😂 I’m heavily pregnant so can’t move the dishwasher on my own but can recruit dh on his return from hell the office

Have you tried putting it in the sink and using fairy liquid? Guaranteed no error codes 😃

wellthatwentwelldinnit · 20/10/2023 10:48

Not sure if that was the same error code I had but mine was water in the bottom. I tip it up and it drained out.

We had this and turned it off at the plug for a while and it went away. Different brand but the easiest thing to try, right? Unfortunately it was a few days in our case and we had booked someone in to look at it. Guess when it decided to pretend it had never even heard of E4...?

Have you done all the normal cleaning out the filter stuff.

And definitely switch it off at the mains.

Jenasaurus · 20/10/2023 10:54

I had this code and had to replace mine Im afraid

BenHolland · 20/10/2023 10:58

Ours did this and was fixed by unblocking a well plugged filter in the machine. Easy fix.The error code means the water is building up. Might be worth a try.

If it is the pump or a sensor failure you can buy the parts and find a youtube video if you can be arsed to waste a morning on it!

Try cleaning the filter, it's probably just clogged. If you don't know how to do that, that's definitely your problem!

YouTube is your friend.

have you taken everything out like the rotor and the filter to give them a scrub? take them out and put it on a minimum rinse (after switching off and on at wall to reset)

Pleaseenterausername · 20/10/2023 20:24

@CaroleSinger i tried it and it wasn’t for me. 1/10 would not recommend

Thank you all! Going to send dh to investigate the filters!

You need to take the bottom filter right out and then feel in the well for the impeller. There's probably a blockage in there.

the easiest thing is removing the filters!! just pull out the tray and they are right in front of you! they are where any remanants of food collect. just lift them all out and wash them in soapy water using an old tooth brush! simple!!
