A couple of our local car parks are NCP ones. They've all supposedly been fitted with new sophisticated tracking/payment options. You have to download the app, and then it automatically notices when your car drives in and out and takes the money. In theory, you could bypass this and pay at a machine but the machine never works/doesn't register the car/won't accept google pay so it's not really possible.
But none of it bloody works. Getting registered on the app was more complicated than opening a bank account.
And now it never recognises my car on departure so I keep having these days-long "open sessions" that I have to manually contact them to ask them to close out.
I am SOOOOOO tired of it.
SO, I know I would be U to simply refuse to pay ever again. But can we at least agree that I am NOT being unreasonable to say if you want to use people-less, machine-less, sophisticated technology... at least make sure it bloody works!?
