Magnesium - constipation = migraine??

I’ve seen magnesium recommended here for chronic constipation so I bought some (oxide). Since taking it I’ve been for a poo every single day which is absolutely amazing!! However ive also had a banging migraine for 3 days now (I started taking these tablets 3 days ago).

Can they cause migraine?? I thought they were meant to help prevent migraine?!

I bought some this week as I read they were meant to be good at preventing migraine.
And I've spent the last two days... battling a migraine!!

They say different forms are good for different things.

I usually take glycinate with the aim of preventing migraines/helping sleep (minimal impact on both but hey) but I recently switched to citrate as I, too, have terrible constipation. Anyway, I've had loads of headaches, including a migraine since I switched. Not sure if the citrate is causing it or if it just isn't preventing them.

Not a terribly helpful response but it's a bit of anecdotal data for you.

How strange! Hope this side effects wears off as I’m over the moon about the constipation relief

Seems a huge coincidence, that’s 3 of us suffering migraines since switching !
