Just accidentally took a swig from my water bottle which I'd left soaking with Milton, about half a cap in 330ml water - bottle says if swallowed contact GP. Am on hold with 111 but anyone know about this?

How on earth did you drink so much!

This just happened to me and I immediately vomited. I couldn't stop and I see on the instructions it says one shouldn't. What happens if I do vomit😱😭?

I did this. 111 told me not to vomit, so it didn't burn on the way back again. I guess if you've already vomitted, it's a done deal. Drink lots of water to dilute.

Hello,

I am here to help others because I did this a few hours ago and was desperately searching for help (NHS24 had a two hour wait time).

I drank about equivalent to between half and a whole tablet. My throat was burning for a while and I did feel a bit dizzy/faint.

I drank two litres of water to dilute the Milton and I feel fine now (apart from a bit of a nippy throat).

if this happens to anyone I would just recommend drinking lots of water and/or milk. Unless you start to develop some crazy symptoms I wouldn’t bother going to A&E. My aunty works in A&E and said they would have just monitored me for a few hours, they wouldn’t have given me anything or pumped my stomach etc.

hope this helps someone else who ends up in my stupid situation!

Thank you. You have made me feel a little better. I drank literally a small mouthful after my 3 year old drank some and said it tasted weird.
She's fine no symptoms but I have tingling tongue and burning throat.
It was about 30ml diluted in 350ml of water.
111 have signed off on my 3 year old but said to go to UTC for me.
I can't get to one right now though as I live in a village, buses have stopped, taxi's are expensive and always busy and I have nobody to look after 3 year old as her Dad is working and switches his phone off at work.
So I might just carry on with milk and call surgery tomorrow. Any other advice from someone who has done it before? I hate hospitals and to sit there for 4 hrs doing nothing is going to make my anxiety worse than it is.
