To be worried about this bird

It’s been sat on my fence for quite a while and has tried to fly off a few times but is just flapping it’s wings and can’t seem to fly off. Doesn’t appear injured.

It looks like a baby pigeon. It's a bit late for baby birds, but the weird weather has probably confused the parents. With those fluffy feathers, I'd say it's some way from being able to fly, or even keep itself warm in the rain. Are you able to take it to a wildlife sanctuary?

Agree - it's a squab or baby pigeon (probably a wood pigeon). I concur that it's going to need help to survive at this time of year. If you could take it to a rescue centre that would be great - if you can't take on caring for it yourself.

Wood pigeons are notoriously daft about building hopeless nests which their young fall out of and also producing young at the wrong time of year.

I do love them, though.

Thanks. I can try and put it in a box and take to a wildlife rescue centre. I can’t see it’s parents anywhere near by watching
