Anyone used Nutracheck?

ThinWomansBrain · 12/10/2023 19:50

I was looking for the MyFitnesspal app after reading one of the threads on here.
When finding it, an app called Nutracheck came up - with a slightly user rating.

Merrily started logging things, all seems easy, no US Cups getting in the way, then I spotted an email that I've got the App on a 7 day trial.
thereafter, it's £36 a year.

Not extortionate - but I wondered if anyone here had used it as well as fitness pal, and could recommend whether its worth sticking with it.
Also, if I don't renew straight away, are they likely to start lobbing discounts at me?

thanks

I do 🙋🏻‍♀️ much prefer it to MFP, you can do loads with it, there is a free version of it, but you can't log as much on that. I pay the £36 a year, it's worth it. You can upload meals if you've things that you eat fairly often, makes it a bit easier

Firsttimecaller · 12/10/2023 20:34

I pay £25? Found a discount voucher. And yes, it is very user friendly.

ItsyourSam · 12/10/2023 20:38

I pay £25 and it's very good. I've been using it for about two years and I've lost the weight I wanted to and kept it off.

Doggymummar · 12/10/2023 20:39

Nutracheck is designed for the UK market and people can't enter there own statistics and screw it up mfp is terrible for inaccuracies. Love it. I'm on my third year with it now.

LindaLyndell · 12/10/2023 21:11

Ooooh, I need to know the secret of how to get it for £25! Did you just search for a code?

TigerQueenie · 12/10/2023 21:13

Have a look online as they pretty much always have a flash sale on so you should see a code somewhere.

I find it better than MFP as the database seems more comprehensive, and I like the progress trackers.

nobleisle · 12/10/2023 21:15

I love it. It's super easy to use and has loads of restaurants/ cafes/ cinema so super versatile.

ThinWomansBrain · 12/10/2023 21:17

That's really useful, thanks everyone
I've used MFP in the past online rather than as an app - I have found some of the data a bit dodgy (waitrose on line can be good for random one off checks), so think I will give nutracheck a try (when I've found a voucher)

Wow, Nutracheck marketing is superb 😂

PortiaWithNoBreaks · 12/10/2023 21:17

Another vote here and worth the annual subscription. The big plus for me is that it’s designed for uk users. I much prefer the interface compared to MFP.

tweetypi · 12/10/2023 21:20

Way better than MFP - I was sceptical at first but actually if you pay the annual fee the cost per month isn't too bad.

FrancisFriedFish · 12/10/2023 21:23

I'm paying £5.99 a month, how can this be ? I'd better cancel it & look for a better deal. It's a great app , it's so easy to use but I didn't realise I'm paying far too much.

mindandsensespurified · 12/10/2023 21:26

I use it. Not very expensive (especially compared with ww, sw, noom etc) and way more user friendly for English market that mfp

IHeartGeneHunt · 12/10/2023 21:29

I use it! So much easier than MFP. I think I pay £25 ish for a year.

SharonTheHappySquirrel · 12/10/2023 21:30

Totally worth the very reasonable price. Even at £5.99 a month if you are sure you want the yearly sub is waaaayyyyy cheaper than SW or WW

ThinWomansBrain · 12/10/2023 22:56

@FrancisFriedFish I just checked the link they sent me - it's £5.99 a month or £34.99 if you pay annually.
I think the £36 in my OP was me remembering it as working out to £3ish a month

Phone them up and say you saw an offer for 19.99 pa but can't find it. That's what I did and they did it for £19.99 for the year. It is absolutely brilliant. 15.5kgs down in 5 months through logging what I eat and tracking exercise output. Just 3kgs off my target weight. First thing I've ever used that actually works.

user1471556818 · 12/10/2023 23:02

Yes I would recommend it easy to use and all the UK brands .

Gassylady · 12/10/2023 23:05

Another one saying it’s fab. Can store favourite recipes, share recipes and has a really good UK foods database.

Sprinkles211 · 13/10/2023 00:00

It's fantastic I'm 4 stone down in 3 years I set it to 1lb a week some weeks (alot of weeks sometimes) I don't do it and will gain a couple of lbs but no more than I go back on it and carry on I don't set the calories or weightloss faster because I'm bad for depriving myself then overeating so with the 1lb loss I am given a sensible calorie target enough to eat 3 meals a day and snacks which mens that when I don't follow it I'm naturally eating around what I should because I've not deprived myself after 20 years of yoyo dieting following plans and then eating normally and piling weight back on due to the plan being so restrictive I finally am in control of my food and most importantly lost my unhealthy good food bad food relationship I had from a teen. It took me a good 6 months to get my head right and the odd wobble for about a year after that but now It has been life changing.

prisscalledwanda · 13/10/2023 19:31

It's fantastic. I think £36 a year is great value for how good it is an how much work they clearly have to put into it to make it work for uk users

ThinWomansBrain · 13/10/2023 19:36

Thanks everyone - I've had more of a play with it today, and compared with MFP doing the same things, it does seem to be tons better.
I've not seen any offers, my tactic is going to be letting it go beyond the 7 days & see if they discount, but £35 doesn't seem that unreasonable.

Huge congratulations to everyone that's done so well using it.
That WILL be me in six months time😄

Thanks to everyone posting about the price. I was paying £5.99 a month/£1.50 a week which I thought was a fair price but I've just swapped it to an annual membership for £28, what a great saving 😁

How did you get on with it? Thinking of using it myself.
