To hate the noises my three year old makes?

Probably just a phase but still. DS(3) has taken to screaming -
not in fear or pain or excitement but just randomly. He also makes this awful throaty sort of growl regularly and makes this repeated screaming noise like a wahwah. Even his laugh has started sounding awful, like a deliberate naughty laugh which is different from his normal laugh.

I know it’s just a phase but it’s really bothering me and making me feel on edge all the time!

Do you react when he does it? Could be an attention thing. I’d completely ignore it and hopefully he’ll stop soon 😆

3 years olds are the worst. All of them.

I am sure that the terrible 2s have been invented by 3 years olds to get the attention off them.

Hang in there, it gets better.

Noisesareterrible · 12/10/2023 18:06

I do ignore it as I worry he’ll do it even more if I react!

Just came on here to offer sympathy, my nearly three year old drives me INSANE with her noise and she doesn't even have any particularly irritating ones, it's just that it's literally constant, she probably never goes five seconds in the whole day without talking/singing and as soon as she's in bed every day all I want is SILENCE!!

Noisesareterrible · 12/10/2023 18:09

Oh god yes mine too

and

‘mummy?’
’yes?’
’mummy?’
’yes?’
’mummy?’

‘yes?’

all day!

Does he do it at nursery? Is it a noise that he is making knowing it annoys you to get your attention or is he doing it with everyone (these 3 year olds can be rather smart that way).

Noisesareterrible · 12/10/2023 18:17

Not sure - probably does it more with me although I don’t really react I probably do make an involuntary face without meaning to.

Perhaps he has heard the noise somewhere like a cartoon or a song and is copying it. They are just so weird sometimes aren't they. But if he is otherwise happy and enjoys playing and interacting, I wouldn't worry too much.

Ughhhhh this is what my days are like
But not just a simple "mummy"
It's "mummmmayyy"
"Mummmmayyy"
"Yes?"
"Mummmmayy"

Omg I love her but wow.

Mine just turned two. It gets worse!?😑
