Washing & Ironing

Other half works PT and puts the washing on to wash and dry.
I work FT and do all the ironing including our kids although they're probably old enough to do it themselves. I iron at weekends or before or after work and when finished takes several trips to put away.
Other half never helps put it away, will even sit on it if it's on the couch. Will walk out the room empty handed even if going to our room or the kids.
It the same with the garbage, will happily wait for the bin to be overflowing and for me to take out, but will often go out past the bins. Tonight kindly tied the big bag up and put by the door ready for me to take out, seriously, the bin is 3ft from the door.
AIBU, in my eyes whoever fills the bin up can take it out and I see no reason in helping put the ironing away.

What happens when you ask for help?
or ask other half to put away the ironing?

what happens if you don’t iron for your partner?

I've thrown my iron away. Just hang every up once dry. Use a steamer if necessary.

Don't iron theirs for that reason.
Probably fly off the handle and say they do more than me.

DH does all the laundry. We iron our own stuff only when needed (iron comes out only once in a blue moon). Bin will get emptied by both - but if someone is already outside then it’ll get let by the front door and they’ll put it in the outside bin. It’s just a bit of give and take and a lot of teamwork. Still have piles of clothing - but we put our own stuff away (eventually)

Stop ironing for starters

Not unreasonable at all to expect help. Laundry, bins & finances are all mainly my husbands “job”. Shopping, cooking & organising the kids activities are all mainly mine. He’ll check if anything needs picking up from shops midweek and grab if passing or start tea if I’m running late & I’ll sort a bin before it’s overflowing or put washing away during the day while on a work call if he didn’t get it sorted in time to do before kids went to bed previous night.
We both sometimes feel like we are doing all of it but in reality we are a decent team
