Class WhatsApp’s useful in someways/ terrible in others. AIBU to get annoyed not by messages asking if anybody has seen little Jonny’s missing jumper but by then the same parents who insist on replying no they havnt got it! What are you adding to the conversation?

If I posted a message and it was roundly ignored, I'd feel pretty crap.
Mute it if you don't want to get notifications.

Acknowledging they’ve read it and checked their kids jumper that it’s the right one? Mute the chat, check it once a day if it bothers you.

Ha ha! I’m always the parent who has to shamefacedly admit that my dc has pilfered someone else’s PE kit because they just sweep everything into their bag without checking labels. But yeah, 14 x “sorry hun, haven’t got it” isn’t that helpful.

It’s just politeness to reply even if you can’t help.

I think they’re being polite and engaging, plus it narrows down the potential field!
