I could really use an opinion, I feel kind of sick over a couple of jobs that are short-term and what to do for the best.
I started one assignment for a recruitment agency job A(day by day booking) to cover that of a company receptionist for just 1 week. Basically they are on holiday. I become unemployed again 16th Oct.
It is a little out of my comfort zone industry wise and not where I’d pick for myself but I’m hanging on in there.
I continued with the meet and greet for the assignment prior to today as I hadn’t heard back from a job interview for fixed term contract (job B) and wholly presumed I was unsuccessful and kind of let my heart fixate on another job C which actually is permanent in primary care but ultimately may not come to anything. 2 people being recruited so I had hope (another thread entirely!)
Ironically I have now heard back, quite taken aback as start date has differed from the interview answer - they would like me to start tomorrow, again another type of temporary role this time lasting for around 8 weeks. Contact centre type work for a charity.
I appreciate this is a real long shot but does anyone know if charities can let you down on fixed term contract extensions? The charity says it could extend or end the FTC sooner from what I’ve now seen of paperwork.
I’m trying to work out what to do for the best. Part of me thinks just stick with A for now. What would you do if you were me? (please 🙏)
