Pregnant??

This may sound ridiculous but I have been pregnant 3 times before (2 miscarriages and 1 full term pregnancy with DD who is now 6). Every time, the VERY next day after sex my nipples and breasts have been very sensitive and painful. This has only happened when I’ve then gone onto realise I’m pregnant.

I had approximately 2 mins of unprotected sex last Saturday night before we both realised we were being irresponsible and used a condom. I am not on any birth control. Last Sunday cue very sensitive nipples and breasts ever since.

I don’t need the ‘you’ve been really irresponsible’ line regarding the unprotected sex, I know that. The guy and I have been together a while but do not want a child, it was a couple of minutes of foolishness. If I am pregnant that will be something that we’ll need to discuss. But just for context if I did decide to have the baby I am in a secure financial position and the unknown at this stage would be if he would be supportive of not. But that’s a discussion for another day.

I guess what I’m asking is has anyone else known immediately that you were pregnant? Is it completely ridiculous to get symptoms literally hours after sex? This has been my experience but is this normal??

Also I took the morning after pill last Monday as I was so paranoid I had conceived but obviously it’s useless post ovulation.

Nope. Not a real thing.

Well, it's not really possible to be pregnant only "hours" after sex. It takes time for the sperm to meet the egg. It takes days for the egg to implant in the womb. It's only really at that point your body starts to exhibit specific symptoms of pregnancy.

I doubt even a pregnancy test would be able to confirm a pregnancy at this early stage.

ABCXYZ17 · 08/10/2023 21:41

I’ve never had a very early positive pregnancy test before, always test positive when I’ve missed my period.
It can take minutes for sperm to meet the egg if you’ve ovulated.

My boobs and nipples get very sore after ovulation, the soreness always starts the day after I would have got ‘pregnant’. I would say it’s more likely your boobs follow this pattern, only you’re equating that with being pregnant when it’s just because you’ve ovulated. So it wouldn’t necessarily mean you are going to get pregnant this time - although potentially means you were having sex around your fertile time!

Squirrelthoughts · 08/10/2023 21:44

Yes this is genuinely not possible. Really unusual to get any symptoms at all until at least 3 weeks after conception. So YABU.

Scaredycats · 08/10/2023 21:46

It takes minutes for the sperm to reach the egg but much longer for it to implant in the uterus and I doubt you would get symptoms at this point as HCG hasn’t started to be made until it’s implanted?

ABCXYZ17 · 08/10/2023 21:50

I’m guessing that only time will tell, but if I am pregnant I will update the thread and my VERY early symptoms may be proven right!
period should be due around next Sunday but due to morning after pill could be delayed so if no period in a fortnight I will test.

This happened to me. I don't care what anyone says my boobs told me the next day! 😂 Interestingly, I had hyper fertility and got pregnant just by looking at a sperm. Had many loses, but always knew immediately. Not sure if that played a part in it or not because literally every time we tried I got pregnant, most just didn't stick.

ABCXYZ17 · 08/10/2023 22:00

I’ve never actually told anyone before as I
knew I’d be told I was being ridiculous!
My boobs have only ever felt like this when I’ve been pregnant and it starts the very next day!!
I’m glad someone else has experienced it!
