Being mistaken for a JustEat driver?

I went to Asda to collect a clothes order and in the Click&Collect there was no where to scan the code. I queued at customer service why h was taking ages and a woman who walked there walked by me and I said “excuse me is this the right queue to get click and collect orders?”

She said read the orange sign there and call the number on it. I was 🤔 but sure. I walked to the sign and it was for JustEat/Deliveroo drivers. Now every time I’ve seen a driver in store they are wearing a very obvious uniform and carrying a large box bag.

I had just normal clothes on, jeans, black tshirt and a small bag. I then lost my place in the queue. Was she taking the piss?

That's not logical. You may have seen drivers dressed like you but not realised they were drivers.

Why didn't you just return to your place in the queue?

Why would she be taking the piss? Is there something wrong with being a Just Eat driver?

I was once accosted by a woman in Co-op about the lack of baskets at the front of the store. I don’t work there, I was picking up my lunch.

I get mistaken for someone working in a place now now and again - it always baffles me how it happens as I'm not wearing anything even resembling the uniform but just one of those things.

I very much doubt it was done on purpose for you to lose your place in the queue.

It doesn’t sound like she thought you were a just eat driver but even if she did, she wouldn’t have been taking the piss.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve mistaken someone for a worker, I’ve never done it to take the piss.

You’re treating her assumption like an insult. Perhaps she was co fused and thought that was the right procedure not knowing it was only for courier pickup.

Meh. I get confused with Tesco workers all the time! We don't even have the same uniform anymore. I find it funny!

Of course just eat drivers don’t all wear uniforms, and yes you probably confused her with your question.
My lad got mistaken for shop staff ( uniformed shop, he wasn’t wearing any) when he replied he didn’t work there the other customer threatened to report him to his non existent boss for being unhelpful 😀

Maybe you mistook her for a store worker and she did her best to answer your question?

i kinda did the opposite i was in the diy, section and a customer asked if the store had a certain type of glue, so i just said ill see what we have, i had a quick scan and said were out of stock at the moment until next delievery.

a couple of times ive been mis identified with different roles, its a mix, although if anyone presumes then i cannot correct the presumption, if they ask me then i can say its x role

You should get a text with a link saying click here when you arrive it makes a really annoying ringing noise on their handsets so they know your in the store waiting

Funny enough someone thought I worked in a store because I helped a lady self scan this other lady said excuse me can you help me out too when your finished? Then staff came over apologised and helped her out she was mortified 😁 customers were just cracking on with scanning each others shopping and sorting things out for themselves 😂
