I miss old TV. When you didn't have to make a decision. You just just flicked between the channels and thought "urgh this looks shit" but an hour later you were engrossed

I miss discussing with friends and colleagues the latest episode of a TV drama the following day, and wondering what would happen next week - or even next series if it ended on a cliffhanger.

I also miss the programmes on old TV. So much choice these days, so little of quality to watch.

I just want someone else to pick the TV.I try to remember what looked good on the myriad of adverts on FB and Instagram and then my mind goes blank and I watch crap. I swear the apps hide the good stuff.

Also, the adverts were pretty good back then. I loved the storytelling.

I watch 80s and 90s ones every so often for a blast from the past and am always surprised at the fairly posh accents even on adverts for budget supermarkets or inexpensive products like soap. Posh accent voice-overs seemed to be the norm.

I was always a bit 🤨 at the sexism in adverts and programmes when I was a child in the 70's . I don't think I had ever heard of the word sexism as a child but knew it was off . I despised that we (as kids) had to watch the likes of Benny Hill , Ken Dodd and Less Dawson .

I'm so old we only had one channel. My teenage grandchildren never watch tv at all.
