To hoover during the day?

I live in an apartment in a victorian house conversion. Downstairs neighbour works nights. She’s asked that we don’t hoover before 4pm. Which we stuck to and just did it on the weekend.

Now we want to hire a cleaner to come once a week, none can come after 4pm, as I think most are mums so need to go on school run. Would I be unreasonable to hoover (or have someone else hoover!) before 4pm? I know it will disturb neighbours sleep.

It’s only once a week, your neighbour could look into getting some loop earplugs or something. You can only limit your daytime activities to a certain point. As someone married to a shift worker, when you accept or choose those hours, you accept the lack of silence during the day time and make the best of a tricky situation.

Get a cleaner in at whatever time you can.
