Laundry room upstairs

2023newme · 07/10/2023 08:18

Moving house soon and has potential for a laundry room upstairs, would be able to access plumbing but it doesn’t have a window, I have a heat pump dryer but would it be a bad move to put in a room with no window incase of heat/condensation?

thanks

1). If I wasn’t into getting my washing out on the line, I would do it like a shot. Convenience is everything.
2) However, external access to fresh air would be a non negotiable, no matter how many extractor fans were installed. Even just a small window I could open. Can your bathroom be reconfigured to take it all?

We have a heat pump dryer and it still causes condensation. If you want the laundry room then (in my opinion) you will need some ventilation, at minimum I would say an efficient extractor fan. You could go with a standard vented through the wall tumble dryer, which should mean that you might not need the extractor fan. They are cheaper to buy and quicker to dry. I am not recommending that necessarily, as I said we have a heat pump dryer. It is incredibly cheap to run BUT it cost us twice as much as a bog standard dryer and it takes 3 times as long to get things dry.
