Decision making

I work in a badly managed, understaffed environment and feel I get pushed into a corner to choose between making no decision, or potentially making the wrong decision. Eg senior staff sending urgent emails wanting an immediate response, when I have other urgent work to handle.

I also might not be able to give them immediate response because the right information/don’t have right tools/awaiting response from slow to respond people. meanwhile I’m being chased for a response and feel pressure

I tend to feel I need to reply asap - aibu? I find it hard to say “I will get back to you”.

I once responded “thanks for the email, will get back to you tomorrow morning and will
look into this as a priority”. The person who I sent that too wasn’t happy with my response.

I'd just adjust the response and say I will make this a priority first thing tomorrow when I have received the relevant information that I'm waiting for.

Thanks. It’s just obnoxious when they start to CC in their entire management chain in response 🙄
