NC for this as outing if linked to other posts and I believe they’re on here.

One of my best friends dad has a habit of eating her food and thinking it’s the height of hilarity. She still lives at home and is 29 if it’s relevant. various factors mean she can’t move out at the moment.

we went to a beautiful bakery on a day out to London a couple of weeks back and bought some gorgeous little cupcakes, one for each person in the household. Her parents were given there’s. Her dad then later ate hers as well which was in the fridge.

My son sees her as an aunty and we do spend a lot of time together, a couple of months back me my son and my friend were all having dinner together, he came over and said to my son oooh what are you eating give me a bit, my son was a bit taken back and said no, he then proceeded to take the food anyway which really upset my son.

now yesterday we have again bought some beautiful little cakes on a day out of town. But Special trip to a bakery we wanted to try. We ate there, and this time friend only bought one cake for herself. She went to get it from the fridge and it was gone. He’d ate it. She was so upset as she’d had a bad day so I sent her a box of cakes from a local bakery via deliveroo. She was thrilled. Ate one. Told him in no uncertain terms to leave them alone, she has came home today and he’s eaten them all. 6 cakes. I am livid. for my friend and for the fact I’ve spent £30 on a box of 6 cakes for him to gobble and leave her upset again. He’s in fits of laughter but I really don’t think it’s funny

Time to get her some cakes filled with the hottest chillis or laxatives.

FictionalCharacter · 05/10/2023 21:08

Horrible man. What kind of arsehole takes food off a child’s plate?
Unfortunately he will steal any cakes she puts in the fridge, so she’ll just have to stop putting them there. A small beer fridge in her room, with a sturdy padlock, should do the trick.
I hope she can get her own place soon.

GreyTS · 05/10/2023 20:57

I imagine this is not the only example of weird controlling and abusive behaviour from her disgusting pig of a father so I can easily believe that she was easily led into an abusive romantic relationship. She may need to unpick things a bit, get some therapy maybe, to recognise her father's behaviour is in fact a form of abuse, to ensure she never gets involved with an abusive arsehole again

Exactly what I was thinking!! She needs to get out that house ASAP!!!

Gloriousgardener11 · 05/10/2023 20:48

He’s a weirdo !
I’d be livid as well, what a selfish man.
How about some cupcakes with a nice chutney and dog meat filling, see if he thinks that’s funny 😆!

Absolutely this. Make a cake with dog food as the filling!!! 💀

AlexaCanYouHearMe · 05/10/2023 21:11

As others have said @Fatcat00 he sounds like a total arsehole!

TryAgainWithFeeling · 05/10/2023 21:13

Horrible bully of a man. I hope she’s able to get her own place soon.

Papillon23 · 05/10/2023 21:13

I cannot imagine being a parent, having had my child flee an abusive relationship to the point they no longer even have a home and then eating something they have as a special treat. I actually think that's really quite nasty, more so than it might be in other circumstances.

My dad used to eat things and it pissed me off as I'd make cup cakes and I would get two and he'd eat 10. But when I labeled 6 as mine he did then suck it up and not eat them. And e.g. he didn't eat my birthday chocolates. It was thoughtless rather than actively horrible if that makes sense?

MustBeNapTime · 05/10/2023 21:14

This has made me so angry and also sad on behalf of your friend. Dad's are supposed to protect their children from hurt, not inflict it. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to hold back from saying it either!

PimpMyFridge · 05/10/2023 21:16

Well it's not hard to imagine how her ability to spot red flags of questionable behaviour could have been limited by having a father who can't treat her with respect. He's a shit.

nearlywinteragain · 05/10/2023 21:17

A small cupcake, a decent dose of laxative in it. He probably won't do it again for a while.

Mix56 · 05/10/2023 21:18

She needs to get her own fridge in her room. Locked.
Or next time buy a cake for her & her mum, & tell him he has already thieved his. & repeat.
Fucking bully. Overweight too I imagine

NoNoHellaNoNoHellaNoNo · 05/10/2023 21:19

Weird. Colossal prick. I’d be tempted to do something not very nice to the next batch in anticipation of the greedy pig eating them.

Mix56 · 05/10/2023 21:20

Has she said they were a present to her, from you, they cost £30 fucking pounds. & he can replace them.
It wasnt funny once. Or twice, Its not funny & never fucking has been.

Queucumber · 05/10/2023 21:21

You need to make some beautifully decorated cupcakes laced with laxatives.

JuliusWho · 05/10/2023 21:21

I’d avoid laxatives but gross cupcakes sounds a good plan. You can buy ones, made for dogs, in most pet stores (or on Amazon) and some of them look quite tasty 😂

Fatcat00 · 05/10/2023 21:22

Yep. She actually showed him that I’d gotten her a replacement last night in a “hands off enough is enough now” sort of way. And then she’s came home to this this evening! I’m raging for her. Lots and lots of history todo with her abusive relationships but I of course think it comes from her upbringing. Very silver spoon but no boundaries kind of thing.

OP posts:
NeedTheSeaside · 05/10/2023 21:24

@Mix56 why the comment about his weight? It's irrelevant & unnecessary.

im over weight, I'm not selfish or greedy.

@Fatcat00 yep, he hasn't helped her have boundaries or spot 🚩

well done her on getting out of her abusive relationship! Now she needs to get out of this situation.

Can't she stay with you?

He selfish, greedy, uncaring & stupid. But predictable!! Why do you both keep putting treats under his nose then being surprised he's eaten them? That's daft!!

forevaworried · 05/10/2023 21:25

She seriously needs to start lacing her cakes with some laxatives. Sodium picosulphate is a good one. Maybe she could bake some fancy ones then she can do it easier than with shop bought ones. Make them look really pretty …

Or she needs to take photos of her dipping them in the toilet, or something really gross. Then when he’s eaten them show him the pictures of what was done to them before he ate them.

Densol57 · 05/10/2023 21:25

I agree with GreyTS
He has created her with a precedent of male bullying behaviour
vile man
poor friend 💐

VisionsOfSplendour · 05/10/2023 21:26

Why is she keeping her cakes in the fridge when she knows what will happen to them?

No one's going to disagree that the dad is a grade a twat but she knows that so why is she giving him the opportunity to eat her stuff?

She didn't really think he would have a sudden personality transplant did she? Id actually be a bit annoyed with her too for the waste of your money

asterel · 05/10/2023 21:27

He’s a shit. She should move out as soon as she can, and do a bit of thinking about how she could get hold of some therapy build up her self-esteem, given that her father is a selfish, self-centred pig. Poor woman.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 05/10/2023 21:27

He sounds like an absolute bastard.

I agree this is a form of abuse. Having a father like this must surely have made her more vulnerable to an abusive relationship.

DaleksAreTinCans · 05/10/2023 21:28

I'd say you could step in and tell him he owes you £25 for the 5 cakes he hate.

I'd also give him a small piece of my mind.

But only if it wouldn't make things unsafe for your friend.

He needs to hear what a cunt he is, from someone he isnt related to, I think.

JanglingJack · 05/10/2023 21:28

3 cupcakes. Hold his nose and shove them all in.

Obviously don't let him suffocate.

Greedy Pig.

Bendysnap · 05/10/2023 21:30

I really really want you to invoice him for £25 for the 5 cakes he ate. Please can you? What a revolting man.
