I have just eaten a meat lasagne from Lidl, with a best before date of 30th September.

Would you have eaten it?

YANBU of course
YABU no way

I can let you know tomorrow if it was a good idea or not…

Hmm. I'm fairly lax about use-by dates but I don't think I'd have risked that. You'll probably be fine, at least I hope so!

Dotcheck · 04/10/2023 21:25

I wouldn’t have, but it’s done. Hopefully you won’t spend the night with your head in the toilet

Iloveanicegarden · 04/10/2023 21:25

Yes. You'll be ok

VerticalSausages · 04/10/2023 21:27

I would. It’s presumably ultra high processed to fuck with preservatives and would probably last til next year.

CrystalDay · 04/10/2023 21:27

No way. Day after use by I would but not 4 days.

MobilityCat · 04/10/2023 21:31

I joined Olio to help prevent food waste and often get free food because it's reached the best before and use by dates and have never had a problem. Some of it I freeze to have later.

tennine · 04/10/2023 21:39

Not a chance I would have eaten that.

I'm really obsessive about dates though.

MobilityCat · 04/10/2023 21:46

Dates are really just a stock management thing, most people in food shops look, smell and touch anyway.

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 04/10/2023 21:53

It will be fine.
