To say this isn't normal?

For a 63 year old woman?
Bald patches as hair is so thin.
Incredibly anxious and nervous as well as jumpy. Shakes uncontrollably when anxious.
Gets words mixed up.
Terrible short term memory and cannot seem to process very simple information.
Some very strange thought processes as in excusing people's bad behaviours and reasoning of things can be odd at best.
Constantly exhausted even doing very small tasks or even nothing at all.
Doesn't work and hasn't for years which I think may be a contributor?
Really am very concerned. She is not concerned and won't see a doctor.

Sounds like thyroid issues?

RandomButtons · 04/10/2023 11:07

Could be a whole host of things, but blood work tests would be wise start point!

ToTheMax0 · 04/10/2023 11:31

Won't do that unfortunately

B12 spray from the supermarket (at the minimum) & a GP appointment.

Of course that isn't normal. Is this a relative? Are they a danger to themselves? Are they an alcoholic? Can you call their GP and explain your concerns?

AmiablePedant · 04/10/2023 13:52

Some of these symptoms (hair loss, anxiety, tremor, exhaustion) line up with hyperthyroidism, which can put dangerous pressure on the heart. (An elevated pulse rate would also be a symptom, but it doesn't sound as if they're going to let you check their pulse!) I hope you can get their GP involved.

I assume this is your mother?
