My DH cooked a lovely meal last night.

He often cooks, so nothing special there.

However, why, why, why does he have to do this to the butter?
Looks so gross!!

Exactly what I was going to say... mine looked like that once when the cats had been at it. Do you have cats or does your DH have claws?

Does anyone else like to use the tub of buttery spread so the top stays smooth and level as you use it? Or is it just me?

It looks like a viennetta a little bit, quite impressive. I suppose that's how I'd leave the butter if I'd been taking speed.

Really would upset me, I think I saw broccoli in it? I don't think I'd be able to cope with that level of butter related disrespect.

You need a covered butter dish to keep a small amount on the worktop for a day or twos usage. The it won't be so hard and need hacked at.
How does it even spread straight from the fridge? That encourages hacking.

@CranfordScones. One of the first time I went to MIL's for tea wren DH & I were courting she put a pile of bread on the table (not a problem) but then put a tub of spreadable butter on the table and stuck a knife in it like Excalibur.

I still married him & love MIL to bits but II t was a culture shock 😂.
