to be spending ages on choosing a notebook?

I am about to start a professional development course related to the job I do. It will last the whole year so I will be taking a lot of notes. This is so exciting for me, because I adore stationery, making notes pretty, etc. I find this is such an important purchase that I want to get it 100% right. Can I tell you my requirements in case anyone can suggest specific notebooks?

I have decided that it needs to be A5 for portability and have squared pages (or grid, not sure how to call it), would consider dot, but definitely not lined or blank. I feel it should be spiral so that it opens flat, but will consider alternatives as long as they open flat. Each page needs to be of good quality, at least 90gsm.

I have a Muji year diary with pages at the back which are just perfect, but they don't do just the notebooks.

Any suggestions stationery lovers??

I use 3 separate Filofax refillable notebooks for work, domestic household stuff and holidays

I particularly like being able to remove and refill plus different papers are available.
I love stationery too!

Ahh good old Filofax. I use one of them too, but this won't be a Filofax job, this course requires its own standalone notebook. Just hoping for lots and lots of recommendations and then I'll get started on pens and highlighters (and stickers).

It isn't the most exciting looking book I've ever seen but what about this? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Midori-MD-Notebook-Grid-Paper/dp/B0091GBD00

@ShutTheDoorBabe, actually, I do find that notebook exciting as I love the aesthetics of Japanese and Korean stationery. That's a strong contender, although a bit pricey...

Oh well that's a happy accident then! I prefer patterns and colours!
