HELP MN Tribe! How to stop my washing machine mid-cycle?

I've tried googling/youtubing and it's not working!
Basically, just put a load on, something hitting the glass, just looked and there's a spoon or fork or something in there (no idea, don't ask). The pause button doesn't work, it just comes up with a key image on the display to show it is locked. I've turned it off for 5 minutes, turned it back on again and it keeps going with the key image. How do I "reboot" it? It's got my favourite top and dress in there, I don't want to rip them to shreds! All suggestions gratefully received...!

With mine you press and hold the cancel button. Anything that looks similar??

If there is water in there it won’t open mid cycle for me. I have to wait until it’s got rid of all the water after a spin

What's the make and model?

Slinkyminky22 · 01/10/2023 23:56

I think with mine (Samsung) I held the play/pause button in for a few seconds to unlock it. Possibly the power button if not. Turning off at the wall doesn't seem to work.

Slinkyminky22 · 01/10/2023 23:57

Also it drains while I'm holding the button but everything is obviously still sopping wet.

I sometimes have to stop mine, set it to the spin programme, let some water drain out then it will open.

QuestionableMouse · 01/10/2023 23:58

Telling us the make and model would help!

Paddingtonsmarmlade · 02/10/2023 00:01

If there is water in there you'll need to get it to drain before it will unlock. Try drain or even drain and spin and reduce the spin to 0

The key image might be a child lock so you would need to unlock that before you can do anything else to cancel the program

It's a Bosch advantixx 6. YouTube says to press the start/reload button (which has a play/pause graphic under it) which I've done. Pressing and releasing, pressing for a while and releasing does nothing. It brings up the key display.

It's only just started and the water has only just started so I was hoping to open it. I can change it to a short cycle, which is 15 minutes but I don't want to damage my clothes. Should I just suck it up and keep everything crossed?

My Samsung would open eventually if I turned it off, you had to wait a while tho.

If it was full of water I would drain it out of the filter by putting a plastic tray under it before opening the door.

*Hoping to open it before it filled up I mean

It won't change programmes. Look like I am going to have to ride it out. Thoughts and prayers for my lovely dress 🙏
