I’ve got a friend who expects replies to messages quickly, if they have sent me one. One time I read their message but I was out and wanted to be sitting down and relaxing to answer, two hours later when I had just got home, I got a message saying “it would be nice to have an answer”. They only asked how I was. This has happened a few times even when it’s maybe been 30 minutes.
I sent a message yesterday to say I hoped their daughter had a great birthday party and asked what time was it kicking off.
They had been talking a lot about the party during the week, things they had to organise etc. First time they were doing a party in the house.
Absolutely nothing back. We are due to see each other tomorrow but it would have been nice just to know how things went.
I know they may have been busy at the time but just find it a little off.

AIBU for feeling a little pissed off about it?

You need to send a follow up:

“it would be nice to have an answer”

But seriously who sends texts like that. 🤷‍♀️

It just sounds to stupid to send that now. I’ve left it.
I got a message late last night to say “are we still on for coffee? See you tomorrow.”
Just replied yes.

You should have pulled her up on her demanding responses when she sent that snarky message previously.

For goodness sake hosting a kids birthday party in your house is stressful and you have to prepare for it. She probably didn't have time to answer. Later she was probably knackered after said party and forgot. What a huge fuss over nothing. The pair of you only sound like kids yourselves.

I couldn't be doing with all that. If someone doesn't reply I generally think they've been busy and so didn't get round to it.
I expect someone to ring me if it's urgent and needs answering straight away.
