I spent £50 on a kitchen bin

Have never owned a nice kitchen bin and for the past year at least we’ve had a plastic bag hanging on a kitchen door handle.

The new bin is stainless steel from Homesense has 2 main 20L compartments and a 5L caddy that sits inside one of the 20L compartments. It’s got 2 pedals for each side.

AIBU for spending that much on a bin

Yanbu it’s a reasonable cost for a decent bin

fwiw we loved our £50 (in 2010ish) bin so much that when we got our kitchen done we rejected the idea of getting an integrated bin and instead got them to design and build a bespoke “space” behind a cupboard for said bin

we’ve since moved house but the £50 bin lives on.

love your bin. We do.

I'd love a great bin. I'd happily spend money on it. But I confess I'm a disgusting bin slattern. Every bin I've ever had has become mega manky and I've had to get rid

Otherwise my house is perfectly clean.

Bins are weirdly expensive aren't they?

I am unashamed to say we spent more than that on a motion sensor bin and I have no regrets. The only problem is that I now wave at all bins expecting them to open and get slightly disappointed when I have to use the foot pedal or open them myself.

Would that be the trash compactor one?

Actually it was the Totem one mentioned upthread - but now I want that one AND the compactor one!

I just want a bin that comes apart so I can dunk the hinge bit into the sink and scrub with a brush. I thought I'd found one in Tesco, but when I came to dismantle it, the main icky bit wouldn't detach, so stayed stinky.
