Just after some insight to what a normal
day looks like in this particular role? I’ve been offered it but the JD seems a little elusive so some insight info would be good!

How.many people would you have to manage? What sort of data would you be analysing?

porkypine · 01/10/2023 18:30

It entirely depends on what department you'll be in.

Notsuchacleverclogs · 01/10/2023 18:31

It will massively depend on what Dept and even directorate you have been offered the role in. Without that info, i doubt anyone can give any more info than the JD. The hiring manager is usually very happy to chat about the role before people accept - i certainly always offer a pre-acceptance chat with anyone i offer a role to.

Thanks for this response I seem to only be able to contact the recruitment guys who seem to be answering questions maybe I should ask to speak to the manager instead? The role will be based on one of the larger depts (money related) but yes I guess the role is dependent on the requirements per dept!

On the advert on Civil Service Jobs there should be hiring manager contact details. Give them a ring.

ahtred · 01/10/2023 19:37

When I've been offered a role in the CS I always ask to have a meeting with the manager prior to accepting the role to discuss the role, and I usually have some questions around home working etc.

Sausageandchips123 · 01/10/2023 19:59

It just says line management for data analysts and it will be tax related data again can’t get much off the JD and no direct contact details for the line manager either!

@Sausageandchips123 it's not uncommon to not have the manager's details, just contact the HR contact, thank them very much for the role, and ask them if it would be possible to have a phone call or virtual meeting with the post's manager prior to accepting, or starting the role, depending on what stage you are at.

Sausageandchips123 · 01/10/2023 20:03

Fab thanks I will do this!
