To ask for results....

Having tests tomorrow at NHS hospital. and results possibly posted out... I am going in holiday on Saturday for 2 weeks .. Can I request results be sent to a friend's address? I really don't want (another) trip ruined by the stress of not knowing the results.. Don't want to look daft if they will say no( or get upset).. Would ask friend to face time me and open them..

is your GP involved at all, because if so, I'd also expect your results to be sent to them and updated on your records, so if you get the NHS app, you should be able to see them (there are lots of shoulds in there as I'm aware not every dept or GP uses all functions of the app).
Just a thought.

Could you just leave a key with a friend? Then she can go 8n and get the letter and FaceTime you. Seems simpler.

Results/reports are usually sent to whoever ordered the tests for them to contact you to discuss. The average person won’t know how to interpret results, and if the results are not ‘good’ then further support might be required. What tests did you have done?

Some can take up to 6 weeks, I feel you are being optimistic at 2 weeks.

Friend is an hour away and doesn't drive or travel alone... And had similar tests so def could read the results... Guess another trip ruined with stress!

Have signed up for NHS app. Says you can access results on there. Tests are for breast cancer.

It might not be very fair to put this on your friend in any case. If the results are abnormal in any way, she is then on FaceTime with you in another country and will have to provide whatever support you might need remotely. I don’t think I’d put any of my friends in that position.
