Is it normal to fall asleep this often?

Just managed to sleep through most of the first half of a history talk at a theatre. I really wanted to go but it was a PowerPoint affair about a topic I already knew a fair bit about and I kept nodding off. Probably missed at least 60% of the first hour.

I have also fallen asleep at work several times, always fall asleep if read / watch TV - basically if I'm sat down for any length of time - I will fall asleep. Good side is that I get into bed every night and fall asleep within about 30 seconds. Always get around 7 hours as a minimum.

This isn't normal though is it? Maybe I have sleep apnea or something. Anyone else? Kids are teenagers so it's not like I'm in the baby stage. Have always been like this too.

I was going to say I was like this when I had vitamin D deficiency.

If you have always been like this then it is, some might argue, normal for you.
However, it might be worth asking your GP to check your vitamin D, folate and B12, oh and thyroid just to rule anything out there.
7 hours isn't enough for everyone. I sleep for 11 hours a night, and nap for an hour when l get home from work, but then l have Lupus.

When I had an undiagnosed auto immune condition I’d fall asleep like that, I slept through lectures, any film…. even in clubs on nights out!

It’s a bit of a stretch but if you have any other symptoms it might be worth a think about 🤷‍♀️
