AIBU to ring ward

Hi. So just a follow up from this thread
https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/general_health/4904503-anemia-hysteroscopy-getting-those-iron-levels-up
Hysteroscopy went well yesterday. They did a d&c rather than an endometrial biopsy? Bleeding is manageable and pain is cramping but mainly one side. Team was lovely and kind. Didn’t need a blood transfusion luckily.

Main issue now is that I’m wiped out, probably from GA, but iron levels have dropped again (from 7.9 to 7.1) I have a racing pulse, and a temp of 38 (forehead scanner).
I’m not a health anxious person at all, rather the opposite, I’m normally healthy as an ox, rarely get Ill, but my pulse was keeping me awake last night. Felt like the bed was moving with each beat and could feel it pulsating in my lips-extremely annoying.
Pulse was measuring between 90-115 when resting and when I moved to go toilet went up to 150bpm. Slightly breathless too.
Slightly better today (80-105bpm resting) but still high when I move around (how dare I 🤨)

I’m never one to cause a fuss and if I ring the ward it’ll feel like I am.
I know the standard on MN is to speak to HCPs but I fear it’ll be seen as wasting time OR as with nhs direct 111, they’ll go overboard and want to send me to A&E. (I did the online last night and it said to ring 999 🙄)

So braving AIBU to ask would I be unreasonable to ring ward?
Thanks.

Anemia, hysteroscopy, getting those iron levels up | Mumsnet

I’ve always had slightly low iron, last few months I’ve been having heavy periods and feeling quite frankly awful. Had bloods taken and iron levels...

Did they give you advice on discharge? I would try and if no go then 111

MinnieMouse0 · 30/09/2023 16:43

Just call them. If no luck try to get a GP appointment asap.

TheShellBeach · 30/09/2023 16:43

Those symptoms are very likely as a result of your low iron, but as you've just had a GA I think you'd be justified in ringing the ward for advice.

You're right about 111 - they'd send an ambulance which is probably over the top.

I hope you feel better soon.

The pulse and the temp sound a bit worrying. It’s probably just the GA but I’d ring the ward to be sure
