Stomach bug

More of a WWYD.

DS's father was unwell with a stomach bug the last couple of days. Isn't 48 hours free from symptoms, but has asked to have him today.

We have an amicable co-parenting relationship and I don't want to be unfair, but I also don't want to risk my household catching this and getting unwell when DS is back.

So, what would you do please?

How long is he free from symptoms? For an adult I wouldn't be so worried about the 48h rule.

Could you offer that he gets DS for an extra day next time or something?

He stopped vomiting yesterday but is still feeling nauseous.

I've asked about the alternative of a video call today. The difficulty of an extra day is that his days are dependent on his work, so an extra day would have to be arranged when he next books holiday, which is fine if course.

If he's still feeling nauseous, I'd say no. It's. It going to be that much fun for DS if his dad's not feeling great.

I'm also assuming that if DS gets sick, you're the one who'll have to deal with it, and the time off school etc?

My DH is very laid back about the kids catching tummy bugs, and thought I was far too careful, until I pointed out that I'm the one who has to rearrange work every time (I work part time, so it's easier for me to take a day off).

Yes, I'll have to deal with it and the time off. I also work and own a business, so lots of things would be impacted. Although, not always avoidable.

I'm sure we'll come to a compromise. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't overreacting. Thank you for your input!
