If you have to hide alcohol to stop someone drinking it while looking after children, that person should not be looking after your children.

You can hide alcohol if you want, but if they really are the kind of drinker who genuinely can't get through an evening with a drink they will almost certainly have had a drink before they even arrive anyway, and may also either bring their own booze or leave your kids alone to go out and get some once they realise they can't find any in your house.
