My son was born 5 months ago. When he was born my husband moved into the spare room. My husband has a serious vape addiction and since moving into the spare room has vaped in it continuously. The room now smells horribly of vape. This room was meant to be my sons room when he turned 6 months. I have just told my husband that he has one month to get the blinds, carpet and mattress professionally cleaned as well as washing all bedding, cleaning all walls.

He is not happy and thinks I am completely overreacting. AIBU?

I wasn't aware that vape left a smell but if that's the case, of course he should get it cleaned.

He shouldn't be allowed to vape inside at all.

The carpet cleaned I agree with. The bed- do you mean the babies cot or an adult bed?

But yes it's not big deal to wash walls, etc.

He should do it.

No baby stuff is in the room. It's the cleaning of the current furnishings that will remain in the room.

And yes I agree he should not be allowed to vape in the house but he has ignored every request.
