A transman? An incontinent man? A sweaty man? Who cares! If they work, they work!

PhantomUnicorn · 28/09/2023 18:35

Also, FTR, if you open the ad and scroll down, you can see the product on other body types... including Female and Non-Binary.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 28/09/2023 18:36

The model would like you to think so, I suppose.

OP you did it wrong.

Trans men are accepted on mumsnet. It's the trans women everyone has a problem with.

Decent try to join the offended but wrong way round.

SomeCatFromJapan · 28/09/2023 18:38

I wonder what a non-binary body type could possibly look like.

Skodacool · 28/09/2023 18:40

ChocolateCinderToffee · 28/09/2023 18:16

The word 'male' is an adjective.

The noun you want is 'man'.

Male can also be a noun

Nopenopenopenopenopenope · 28/09/2023 18:40

They're either a trans man or a trans masc person. Either can have periods. Get over it. How does it even affect you?

Edit: oh, and alternatively they may be intersex.

vodkaredbullgirl · 28/09/2023 18:40

Why do people get their knickers in a twist over things?

gotomomo · 28/09/2023 18:41

If you look on their website you will see that product is also marketed for bladder weakness, there's a mens section too with trans and non trans models.

Their products really are suitable for both purposes

In model terms, someone who in the photos does not present as either identifiably masculine or feminine. Was that a genuine question or are you being obtuse?

Seagrassbasket · 28/09/2023 18:43

I think it’s a trans man, who probably has periods, ergo, I’m not bothered.

If it was a trans woman I’d be much more bothered.

SomeCatFromJapan · 28/09/2023 18:43

Clothing and hairstyle, certainly. Their body will be male or female though, unless, like the person in the image, they have altered it with surgery and hormones.

fearfuloffluff · 28/09/2023 18:44

As far as I remember, underwear models aren't required to confirm what's in their pants

PurpleChrayne · 28/09/2023 18:46

It's clearly a lass.

Ýsette · 28/09/2023 18:47

The nipples tell me it is a trans man, so yes still having periods

There's no such thing as intersex. There are male and female people with variations of sexual development.

Ilovebudgies · 28/09/2023 18:48

I am utterly gobsmacked by the responses. I thought Mumsnet hated trans people?? I was expecting pages of abuse, and was pleasantly surprised 😂 how can Mumsnet hate transwomen so much but be ok with transmen?

Marmunia10667 · 28/09/2023 18:48

Looks like a man to me. Good God, if he's a transfomer, he still has a penis.

Catleveltired · 28/09/2023 18:49

Here is where gender critical differs from transphobia.

Transphobia - omg! This looks like a man in period pants!

Gender critical- looks like a female person with periods, who happens to have chosen to grow facial hair, and is advertising period pants. Whatever.

I'm gender critical. I'm glad the model has something comfy and practical for periods

Certain boards are more.. Hysterical than others. And as with the whole culture war, it's plain misogyny as to why people with froth over trans women but not trans men. And yet they package it as being feminist. 🙄

What's the difference between trans man and trans masc please?

Not at all, it's consistent as feminists to support women in every form.
