Retraining in new career at 40

I'm thinking about changing career. It's something that I would like to do, and I could work my way up.

I see a job in company that I would like. However I would be on the lowest role at age 40. I don't mind that personally. I was just wondering would other people look down on me in the company that I'm so low down at my age. I see that people in their early thirties are managers in that company. Do you think people would look down on people in their 40s who change career?

Has anyone on here done it. What was your experience please

I have bags of admiration for people who do this. I think they show the type of courage many others wish they had.
