To want to smack my DH and tell him to shut up.

I just had my hair cut, and i really like it, but since i walked in all my DH is done is bitch.

He's told me it looks like someones just hacked it off, it looks lank, that he wouldn't have paid half of it, that he paid for a cut and style and they haven't done that and he'd ask for his money back.

Basically he thinks it looks horrible and i'm on the verge of crying here.

the only thing i can think is that its because its shorter than he's ever seen it and the hairdresser put the straightners on it.

Not BU at all. It's your hair! You like it, and that's all that matters!

Homebird8 · 05/03/2008 16:23

I'm assuming your DH is perfection itself in the grooming arena! Tell him that it's a style you like and that his attitude is upsetting you. He doesn't have to lie and say he likes it but he could keep his comments to himself. I don't think you're being unreasonable.

girlfrommars · 05/03/2008 16:29

If you like it then that's all that matters.

He's being an arsehole. My BIL hates my SILs hair when it's straight even though she loves it and it looks great.

Remind yourself of the stupid things he wears/likes that he thinks are great but in reality are foul.

Emprexia · 05/03/2008 16:29

he has an all over buzz cut.

Tell him if he wants to be Nicky Clark you'll buy him some scissors. Otherwise he should leave it to the stylist and keep his mouth closed.

Blu · 05/03/2008 16:35

I like those 'hacked off' blunt cuts, too.

Just get on with enjoying your new hairstyle...what on earth do balding men know about women's hair

BoysOnToast · 05/03/2008 16:41

tell him hes hurting your feelings now, you are getting quite offnded, YOU like it, its staying, hes made his point, so can he please now shut it and only speak about your hair if its to apologise and say something nice please?
and smile sweetly, but with that 'dont-push-it' edge to the smile

amytheearwaxbanisher · 05/03/2008 16:53

kick him....kick him hard

Catzy · 05/03/2008 16:54

I'd take the clippers to him when he sleeps. shave a rude word into his hair tonight!

Mumcentreplus · 05/03/2008 16:56

He'll turn around he's probably just shocked..just ignore him!

if he's got a buzz-cut, write "i'm a wanker" on the back of his head, in indelible ink, as he slumbers

LadyOfWaffle · 05/03/2008 17:03

Show him what a bad cut really is, when he is asleep Or, in a serious voice pretent to take it very to heart, put on a bobble hat and say you are getting it drastically changed tomorrow (hair exptensions/dyed the full works) and your so glad he told you how awful, horrible and ugly you look and I'm sure he'll start to feel bad. Or smack him and tell him to shut up

snowleopard · 05/03/2008 17:06

What a rude git. Ask him how you'd feel if you slagged his clothes. Or his knob size.

WallOfSilence · 05/03/2008 17:07

Shave his eyebrows off

Emprexia · 05/03/2008 17:09

He knows i'm annoyed at him.. i'm ignoring him

I shall go see my mom tomorrow, if she likes it, then it'll be fine.

I really just think its because its been straightened and i'ts usually really wavy.

OP posts:
nametaken · 05/03/2008 17:12

make sure you do the same to him next time he has a new hairstyle/outfit/car

Emprexia · 05/03/2008 17:31

i may just do that nametaken, heh

Tell him he sounds like your Dad! We always asked our Dad's opinion about new clothes etc and if he liked them we took them back

Men know nothing about these things.

jesuswhatnext · 07/03/2008 15:11

tell him if you had your way you would have his dick straightened!!!

(and lengthened )

captainmummy · 07/03/2008 15:14

I had my hair cut last friday and no-one has mentioned it. It's not like they havent noticed (gone from shoulder-length to cropped back-long sides) so I assume they don't like it.

But I DO!

Elasticwoman · 07/03/2008 22:45

You've really rattled him by getting a new hair do WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION. Oh you naughty girl! He is scared this means you've gone off him.

Don't let it knock your confidence - put on some lippy and walk tall, with your new, chic, just come from the hairdresser's look.
