Many of Trump's latest outbursts (confusing who he previously ran against, threats of WW2 breaking out) suggest his mental state is failing. Whilst this might be due to his age (only a couple of years younger than Biden after all) could it possibly be a ploy so that his legal team can claim that it means he is unable to stand trial?

Trump's narcissism might mean he wouldn't want to pursue that approach but equally he is desperate to avoid prison.
