Recruiter was very eager and said he’d sent over my cv to the company and was sure they’d want to interview me. Since then I’ve heard nothing. That was a week ago.

I had similar too did email the agency got told they where keen to meet me and currently doing a short list so would be in touch then nothing. Happily got another job not through an agency.
Just email the agency and ask when interviews are being held. Good luck.

All recruiters say this for every role they put you forward for. However the reality is your cv might not cover what the company are looking for.

My CV matches up exactly to the job specification, it’s what I’m already doing in the exact same sector.

Can you apply outside the recruiter? Is it on their website?

It is but if my cv has been put forward there’ll be a clause in the contract between the agency and the company about non-solicitation.

So ask the agency if it has been put forward.

They might have had 10 cvs that match, they might beed to have it internally advertised before they can interview. Lots of reasons.

I work in agency recruitment, it's poor practice to say "I'm sure they'd want to interview" but also the recruiter is possibly being ghosted by the company too and not hearing anything back. The client might be saying "I'll review the cv and come back today"... but everyday. Just chase them up.
