Young people vaping

Seriously, why even bother? I suspect peer pressure maybe but the attraction is lost on me. I'm travelling to work and I use a busy transport interchange with buses and trains and there are lots of young people going to college and maybe school. So many of them vaping.

Well congrats on being a sensible, well-behaved teenager. I wasn't, and I didn't hang out with any! (I would just like to add that we are all now very sensible middle-aged professionals...)

Same here ^

Unfortunately, it's seen as a sign of being one of the 'cool'/'edgy' kids. I see lots of pupils leaving our local secondary school and starting to vape as soon as they are off school premises and/or handing around in groups vaping together. It's pretty clear that they want their peers to see that they are vaping.

It's exactly the same as smoking was when I was a teen in the 80s/90s. The big difference I can see though is that back then we were at least taught about the dangers of smoking and how addictive it was. I know that long term health concerns are not exactly a priority for a teenager hoping to look 'cool' but I doubt that many of them realise the risks. Some of our local buses have a huge vape advert on the back, with no mention of health risks etc. The vape shops in town look a bit like sweet shops, with lists of flavours etc.
