Posting for traffic. Bad back and achy arms and legs but I thought I was on the mend. Then suddenly today I got a really bad burning sensation in my tailbone and vulva. Google reckons it’s pudendal nerve inflammation. I can’t see a GP for a few days. Google reckons it’s urgent and can result in permanent damage if not addressed quickly, but we all know that Dr Google always tells you the worst case scenario. No idea what to do? Would you just wait a few days and see the GP?

I can get a GP appt on Thur but I’m freaking out because everything I read online says this needs urgent treatment.

Ring nhs direct?

HappyLittleLentil · 26/09/2023 04:31

How are you feeling now?
I agree that NHS Direct is a good idea. Does your surgery have an AskMyGP service? Don't leave it until Thursday

AnotherVice · 26/09/2023 05:33

NHS Direct shut down in 2014!

smallshinybutton · 26/09/2023 06:13

Phone 111 or see your GP. If it's urgent they'll see you ASAP.

I’m too late for the OP now but the GP told my DD that numbness down below was an emergency with the other symptoms described and that she should go to A+E if that happened. She went due to severe back pain, leg pain and burning pain down below. He was leas concerned about the other symptoms and fortunately it cleared up after a couple of weeks.

@spodey
Did you get to the bottom.of this

Yes I got an urgent GP appointment and they said it was not cauda equina (the serious thing that can happen with tailbone pain). They told me to rest and see if it went away, and it did in a few days. I still have the achy arms, legs and back (it’s been several weeks now) but the tailbone pain is gone.

@spodey
OK good how about the vulva pain and burning ? I sort of in that position

Spodey · 19/10/2023 07:02

It went away. I’m still achy but not at the tailbone any more.
