To find maternity leave boring

I'll start by saying I love my children wholeheartedly

3 year old and 7m old
3 year old at nursery 3 days a week but baby can't start until January as they have no space

I cannot wait to get back to work! I love them so much, but playing with the same toys, watching the same episodes of Miss Rachel, cooking and sterilising etc several times a day is just mind numbing

The constant 24 hour need from one of them Jesus 😂

I can't wait for some adult conversation and something to engage my brain again

I'm sure I'll miss them terribly when I'm back at work but for now I've had enough of the whining all day from the 7m old 🙈

Can't you go to a Stay and Play/Rhyme Time/Story Time group and talk to the other adults there.
Get out of the house....

Agreed. I lasted four and five months each time.

I loved and hated maternity leave in equal measure. One day I found myself at Singing Babies, again, singing some crap nursery rhyme to a bunch of babies that didn't care, thought FML went home and told my husband I was going back to work.

@Needmorelego I do try and get out with them both either on the Monday or Tuesday but it's bloody hard work! (We dont have a double pram - regret!)

@AmicableHonest this is me! Some days I want to stay with them forever and other days I'm so keen to get back to work. Today is one of those days.

The toddler is going through the 'why' phase too 🙃

@febbabies2023 see if you can get a basic double buggy secondhand. People are often practically giving them away on Facebook Marketplace etc.
Or if you can manage baby in a sling get a really cheap basic buggy for the 3 year old - if he is in walking mood put baby in the buggy for a while.

adomizo · 25/09/2023 18:54

You are nbu ! But get a 2nd hand double buggy. You will use it loads over the next year !!!!

febbabies2023 · 25/09/2023 21:58

It actually surprised me people saying get a double buggy! I see so many people on MN saying by 3 they should be walking 3839 miles a day 😂

Think my partner may end our relationship if I buy another pram hahaha

@febbabies2023 seriously you will probably be able to get a double buggy really cheap secondhand - or even free.
I see them advertised on local parent Facebook groups etc all the time. Ones that are £500 new being sold for £30 !!
Just get one. 3 year olds are fine to be in a buggy.

Have you looked into a buggy board - found that a godsend. Doesn’t help with the mat leave boredom but will help getting out and about
