Just a quick one as I am out of practice and haven't changed jobs in 20 years!

Been offered a new job verbally following interview but am yet to receive an official written email/letter offer from HR. I accepted the job verbally a week ago. I will have to give notice of a month in my current job role but haven't said anything yet as I was waiting for the letter. I'm conscious that time is ticking on. Can I give notice without it or is that unwise?

Fwiw I'm 99% sure all will be fine and the job is secured. I just don't know what the protocol is.

I'd always wait till you'd got an offer in writing...just in case there was any misunderstanding about terms and conditions etc.

I'd wait for confirmation in writing personally. A signed contract preferably.
