To have found that the rubbish really does ' take itself out?'

I have found - if you're unapologetically yourself - 'bad' people just bugger off?

An example I'll give is - I used to be fat and didn't like this.. I lost weight to become a normal weight person. A few people really didn't like it and obviously wanted to keep me in my place.

I've used the fat/weight loss example. But I've also seen this phenomenon with regard to other things. You may have your own version.

Funny, I was just thinking about something this afternoon. I try to dress well (cheaply but classily, it's an art!) and am quite well spoken. I worked with someone who made it perfectly obvious that she disliked me, it was uncomfortable. Until one day when I messed something up spectacularly, and although I'm not a crier I was obviously upset and had tears in my eyes. Well she was as nice as anything to me, then and going forward. Sometimes people don't like us to be confident it seems, although sometimes the confidence is superficial.

Interesting hypothesis, OP. Someone wise did tell me recently that I need to be more Marmite when dating.

MaudGonneOutForAFag · 24/09/2023 17:05

It’s a nice theory, OP, but the current government rather invalidates it, don’t you think?

You sound exactly like me , it's spooky. I look ,sound deceptively put together and come across very confident - except I'm masking like crazy and people seem to like me more when they finally figure out that I'm a hot mess.

@Doingtheboxerbeat Still. I'll carry on regardless, you?

Of course - I love being me - for the most part. People treat me with respect when often times , I'm not sure that they should 😁.

CorryAndwes · 24/09/2023 19:09

Can you please elaborate on this @MaudGonneOutForAFag?

I’m not sure…in my experience a lot of them hang around like a bad smell!!

Pottomous2 · 24/09/2023 19:13

I think age helps, the older I have got the less tolerant I am , and the more honest I have become - so the horrible people tend to avoid me !

CorryAndwes · 24/09/2023 19:14

Yes I meant a normal weight person @SENDhelp2023
