Eavesdropping rude couple

I met a friend for a coffee early morning and we were the only people there. A couple came and sat on the table next to us.

I was quietly telling my friend that I had recently had a hysterectomy and developed a UTI. No gory details, just that.

The man turned to me and said "Do you mind, we're eating?" in a very rude manner.

I told him to stop listening to other peoples' conversations and talk to his wife. He could've sat down or moved anywhere else.. no one there. Was I being unreasonable?

People are arseholes, he was very unreasonable sticking his nose into your conversation.

From your description though it wasn't a rude 'couple' - it was a rude man!

I remember years ago having a phone conversation with my friend who was having a bad episode of thrush. She went into minute detail of how her vag was burning and she couldn't stop scratching - the discharge, the smell...I had the full rundown of how it was pissing her right off; then she said very casually, 'anyway, im gonna go, the in-laws are here' 😳 They had been sat next to her the whole time. I couldn't stop laughing at how unbothered she was by their presence

If the cafe man was her FIL his head would've exploded!

"Do you mind, we're eating." I do mind your eating. Your table manners are awful, you eavesdrop and you interrupt other people's conversations. I'm surprised your wife takes you out in public.

Again thanks so much all. Made me feel like shit even though the worst thing I said was "UTI". Really hope his horrible nature gets him in trouble one day!

I sincerely hope he gets whatever the male equivalent of a UTI is; then he'll have something to complain about. 🌹

The male equivalent of a UTI is erm a UTI (urinary tract infection) 😂

Clearly being a man he gets to police women’s conversations and dictate what’s tasteful enough.
