Hi got my mierna coil removed on Tuesday was fine no cramps after. Then today (Friday) had cramps and bleeding which is like a period. My period is due next week. Does removal
of the mierna coil cause delayed bleeding or an early period so quickly?

How long was the coil in for??? Mine was in for 5 years. Had it removed two weeks ago, just a bit of spotting for 24 hours and so far no period x

Probably not.

The Mirena coil is supposed to suppress ovulation (although sometimes you can start ovulating again if you've had it in a while, in which case you have to rely on it functioning in the same way as the copper coil), so if it did suppress your ovulation you wouldn't get your period for a few weeks after you had it taken out.

If you were ovulating on the Mirena coil then having it removed would be unlikely to change the timing of your period.

I had it in for 3 years I would have expected the spotting straight after it being removed not three days later? I got it removed as I am having some bleeding after sex and gynaecology won't see me they advised to remove the coil first.
