Children sizes on Vinted

vintednotminted1 · 22/09/2023 09:24

AIBU to say that the way children's clothes sizes are listed on Vinted isn't helpful?

Example: my daughter will soon be 6 so I am looking for clothes in size 6-7 years.

So I set a filter looking for size '6 years'. But within the results there are lots to clothes which are actually size 5-6.

So I now set my filter to size 6 years and size 7 years to try and catch people who list in both the different ways, but I meant a 2/3 of my results are things I don't want (size 5-6 years and size 7-8 years).

AIBU that this system of clothing sizes isn't user friendly, or am I being really silly and there is a way around it to see all the size 6-7 year clothes but no others?

Yep it’s annoying! I have to select both S/8 and M/10 for myself too as I need either a small or a 10. An 8 or medium is no use.

Yes, it’s hugely annoying. My DS is in 5-6 years but I don’t know whether to select 5 or 6 years because 5 years often brings up 4-5 which is too small.

It's the same for adults too

I think the issue with adult sizing is compounded by the fact that the numerical sizing doesn't align properly with the S/M/L categories... so as a size 8-10 it's a bit of a gamble buying something labelled 10/M... sometimes it's a size 10, sometimes a medium, so more 12-14. I assume that it's based on US sizing, but don't actually know.

Yes! Was going to start this very thread!! So annoying.

I was coming to start a thread on the same thing and found this one! The problem is the categories people choose when they list things. They should always choose the lower age so if something's 5-6 it should be listed as 5. Baffles me that people don't.
I always ask to see a picture of the label now if there isn't one already listed. When I'm selling I always include a picture of the label.
