Carers allowance.

I claim carers allowance as I care for my autistic son.
I’m starting a job, mainly for my own sanity, have done everything I should and informed the DWP, told them my hours (12 hours per week), my pay (minimum wage so under the required £139 per week earnings).
They’ve stopped my carers allowance (which was due this week) until I send a form back, the form will then take time to process. I am going to be way out of pocket due to them stopping it, and I’m not quite sure how I’ll manage.

I won’t be paid for my job until I’ve worked 4 weeks, and I still have all bills to pay.

AIBU to think this is really shitty?

Do you claim UC? If so, then they shouldn’t take it off the claim next month. If not, I’d call them and clarify how long the form will take to process. Hopefully it won’t take long and any monies owed will be backpaid.

I have been on tax credits, but that’s all changing now as ds is no longer getting child benefit!
