To not want to spend another £10.50 on a school photo that will get stuck in a drawer

We are ordering the photos taken at school. I want to order the pack which has 1 x 10x12, 2 8x6, then about 6 smaller ones. The plan is to have the big photo for us, the two 8x6 for my mum and step dad and MIL and step PIL.
However, DH also wants us to order another 8x6 which is about £10, for his dad and step mum. Every single photo of the DSes we give them ends up in a drawer. They have 8 photos of SIL in various stages of her life, SMIL's neices wedding photo and loads of prints of cars and dogs. I don't want to spend another £10 for it to be stuck in a drwaer, at least my Mum and MIL put the pictures up

buy an album and stick them in there.

Agree it is annoying to get lots but they are cheaper than going to a high street photographer and only buying the ones that you actually want.
I sometimes out the smaller ones in my purse to show off to people or pop them in cards etc to people we don't see vert often

It's not the buying of lots that the problem though, i just don't want to buy another big photo, at extra cost to us, for it to be stuck in a drawer

Why not send them one of the 6 smaller ones?

What does your dh say? Have you explained your reasons? I don't think you are being unreasonable to feel like this and I think I would too, but I do understand that he wouldn't want to treat both his parents differently and I think its a bit unreasonable of you to ask him to do this to be honest. Its only £10 and only once a year - hardly going to break the bank.

Another option would be to ask them if they would like the photo - hopefully they will tactfully decline which would solve the problem!

My mum is the same. I just give her a smaller sized one now as I don't be as annoyed when she doesn't display it.

The smaller ones get bunged on top of the tv or into mirror frames etc...

oh - didn't realise that your ILs would put it in a drawer!

Give them one of the smaller ones then. We always give my Mum a small one because she just leans them all uop on her dresser. MIL gets a bigger one cos she'll put it in a frame on the wall

When I was a kid My mum and dad never ordered any photos of me. It's not done me any harm

If my grandparents wanted photos of me they took them themselves.

I would give them the little strip thing that they can use to order prints if they like from the website (keep a note of the number for your own use). That way, they can order them if they like and not bother if not.
