Am a newish grandmother went on gransnet and thought hmph do some of us lose our political mind and self identity when our children have children. Is that why we are depicted knitting grey haired with a bun or just out of touch. I prefer mumsnet keeps me alive AIBU?

No one said you were not welcome on Mumsnet 🤷‍♀️.

Love

A grey haired bun wearing 36 year old!

You are not alone. I ventured there once and the mindset was mind numbing. Considering it is on the internet and all other stuff is available to read, no-one seemed to actually read it, or know what is going on anywhere except in their little corner. It's as if they don't know anything else exists except what is in the news or their home.

It's much more interesting here.

It's a bit depressing over there. 😀

Knitting is definitely not exclusive to grannies, nor do all grannies enjoy it. Be part of wherever you feel you fit, and where you feel you get opinions which not only agree with you but challenge your thinking a little.

phew I do in fact enjoy quite a few of the heated debates but only posted for the first time ever on the Brand thread. So i shouldn’t worry about my age here

Despite being a grandmother my mindset isn’t old enough to enjoy Gransnet.

I did give it a try but it wasn’t for me.

OP. I do enjoy knitting by the way - I’m working on an alpaca yarn throw at the moment. I haven’t succumbed to grey hair in a bun though!

PosterBoy · 17/09/2023 21:07

Funny, cos I often think the same on mumsnet.
