Need some more specifics to help. Do you know what grade the position is?What kind of role is it? Compliance is incredibly broad - assurance, advisory, regulatory policy, financial financial crime, investigations?

How stressful it is will really depend on the type of role, the grade, the company, any regulatory focus on the area etc

In my experience advisory roles can be particularly challenging when there's either a lot of regulatory change happening, or where a regulator is investigating or taking enforcement action against a firm. Presumably you already work in the sector so would know about the first of those two things. Also what is it like in the business you'll be advising? If your stakeholders are collaborative and easy to work with, great, but there will naturally always be some friction between a business unit and a compliance function that is often seen as constraining it.

Research as much as you can about the firm and then if you get an interview there's alot of things you can ask to gauge what the environment is like
