No but it bugs me too. I guess the answer is everything goes into specific folder and you just ignore the 'all photos' one, but who has time for that??

I have 95k 😂 going back to 2007ish to be fair. Wedding, 3 babies.

The folders or albums are just a way to gather the photos together, it's not a separate copy. So you can delete folders from an album, but if you delete them from the main library it deletes them everywhere. I quite like how it works in iPhone - I create albums for specific events, but day to day photos are automatically sorted by years/months.

I have over 50,000 in my photos app. Stored in the cloud though, so they don't clog up my phone storage. I'm very slowly working through them to delete duplicates, check they're dated correctly and tag people in them. I perhaps should get out more... 😂

What are we supposed to do with them all? Is it ok to keep on at the same rate and store them in the cloud?

There’s no way around it.

You can’t put pictures into a folder, go back into the main camera roll and delete it from there because it’s now safely in the folder. If you delete it from the main camera roll then it deletes from there AND the folder.

The folder is more a way to be organised so if you have a ‘Wedding’ folder you’d go there and find all of your pics instead of scrolling through a load of different pictures. Quite annoying but you get used to it

On iOS and Mac OS, do you use albums, smart albums and shared albums?

I can't imagine be able to find anything without them when you have 10K + images

I'm happy to right up a "how to" if anyone wants one.

You all need to have a serious purge of your photos... cloud storage is increasingly adding to global carbon emissions and uses an incredible amount of water, often in dry areas.
