I'm interested in countries that generally speaking, don't get a lot of news coverage - I've always been interested in the unknown or the relatively little known.
I was interested in Haiti before the 2010 earthquake and was researching it a lot. I even talked about spending a few years out there. And then - the Earthquake- I can remember the exact day I heard about it - where I was, etc.
I'm thinking though - Haiti is a beautiful country - it's much more than we see on the news - it's in the Caribbean - and it's a country I'd like to visit or maybe stay long term at some point.
Both me and my Oxbridge educated brother thought it was a Spanish speaking country- only in around 2007 did I find out it was French. I've always been interested in travel - but off the beaten track travel kit package holidays.
So if you spent some time in a developing country - which one interests you?
